Birol Unal
Dr. Birol Unal brings over 25 years of experience in capital markets, with a career spanning quantitative valuation, front to back trading business oversight, and business transformation within leading global investment banks. He holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance from Imperial College London, as well as an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College and Middle East Technical University, Ankara, respectively.
Dr. Unal began his banking career in 1999 at Credit Suisse First Boston within the Quantitative Valuations Group in Finance. In 2003, he joined Morgan Stanley, where he led the Global Fixed-Income Model Control Group. He later served as European Business Unit Risk Manager before moving to UBS in 2009. At UBS, he held a series of senior roles, including Operating Officer for the Global Structured Rates Desk and Co-Operating Officer for the Global Rates and Credit business. Most recently, he led the Business Analysis team within the UBS Investment Bank Change division.
Today, Dr. Unal applies his expertise as a trainer in mathematical finance, sharing insights from his extensive industry background.
