Clive Lang

Clive Lang has over 30 years' experience working in the financial sector, specializing in applying quantitative methods to investment and risk management, and now uses that experience to train professionals in the financial industry and as a university visiting lecturer.

Clive holds a BSc degree in Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Physics from London University and an MSc in Statistics from the University of Kent. His career has spanned the activities of portfolio management, financial risk management, investment consultancy and teaching. He has experience of working in conventional (western style) and shariah-compliant (Islamic) financial service providers that included both boutique firms and some of the largest financial institutions in the world, such as Merrill Lynch.

In most recent years, alongside running his own consultancy firm, Clive has also been teaching at postgraduate level in UK universities as a visiting lecturer.
 At the University of Kent he has taught and examined the financial risk management module of the masters program in Finance, Investment and Risk as well as foundation courses in pure mathematics and statistics. At the University of Leicester he has delivered pre-examination courses in financial risk management to postgraduate students seeking to sit the examinations for GARP FRM® certification.
